Wednesday’s game against the Cardinals saw Max Scherzer, a New York Mets pitcher, pull himself from the field with an injury.
Max Scherzer, the Cy Young-winning pitcher, had to be excused from Wednesday’s game against Cardinals because he injured his knee while batting.
He started waving his hands across his throat after throwing a pitch. This is not a good sign.
Scherzer looked at the bench, shaking his head and saying he was done. After a quick discussion, Scherzer said he was done.
After he had thrown a lazy slider, Scherzer apparently felt something telling him to stop.
How long will be Max Scherzer will be out of the game ?
Although he didn’t seem to be in any severe pain, Scherzer was concerned enough to withdraw himself from the game.
Scherzer was interviewed after the game and told him that he hoped he didn’t get a serious injury.
Scherzer stated that he felt a tingling sensation in his left side and knew he was over it. “I don’t believe this is a serious strain… I hoped that I was able to get out of there quickly enough to avoid a major injury.”
The injury prognosis for Scherzer is currently unknown. Scherzer still needs to be diagnosed by New York’s medical team.
More information will be available as soon as it becomes available. All this comes after Scherzer was signed by the Mets to a record-breaking contract.
Jacob deGrom is out so any injury to Scherzer that lasts longer than a week could force the Mets into a trade. New York boasts a 25-14 record, which is one of the most impressive in baseball.
They came in at No. They occupy the No. 2 spot in this week’s MLB power rankings. Scherzer’s health could have a significant impact on that position.
